About ACCESS Health International

ACCESS Health International is a nonprofit think tank and advisory group dedicated to improving access to high quality, affordable healthcare in low, middle, and high income countries. We advise national and regional governments and the private sector on the design and management of healthcare finance and delivery systems. Our team members reside in country. We establish long term relationships within each country to address both national and local healthcare needs. We identify and develop leaders in healthcare in the countries where we work.

Scope of Work

All of the work done will be under the purview of the project. The goal of the project is to drive awareness and active support for quality maternal care in India among public and private healthcare insurers, maternal healthcare providers, policymakers in the state government, and central government. The partnership would build long term buy-in for quality initiatives: increasing the number of maternal healthcare providers providing quality care and seeking accreditation; ensuring that payers of health become active agents promoting quality maternal care; and embedding quality improvement in the maternal healthcare agenda at state and central level.

Key Responsibilities

Provide the technical expertise to the project to integrate the different partners and team members towards successful completion of the key deliverables.

Deliverables

Provide technical support to the project and coordinate with the implementing partners (FOGSI, JHPIEGO) to get the relevant program implementation data on a regular basis.

Help the program lead incorporate patient perspective in the quality maternal care agenda

Provide regular oversight and support to the project research

Coordinate with Weber Shandvick and support in organizing consultation workshops with key stakeholders for Quality of Care for Maternal Health and raise awareness of the program at state and national level.

Technical support and guidance for developing technically relevant document for different stakeholders (providers, policy makers and others)

Liason with accreditation bodies like NABH and QCI for incorporation of Manyata standards into NABH

Coordinate with JHPIEGO and FOGSI for collection of the data and analysis of the data for measuring the impact of the program

Ensure appropriate usage of technical data across teams and presentation of the data for easy understanding

Desired experience

Experience of handling large projects with focus on private sector. Understanding of the Public and Private Health systems in India and the working pattern of professional bodies such as FOGSI, IMA, IAP and the functioning of the accreditation bodies such as NABH, QCI etc.

Good negotiations and people management skills.

Desired Skills

An obstetrics and gynecology specialist

Knowledge of maternal health indicators.

Should have the ability to interpret data captured in respect of maternal healthcare and identify, consolidate the uniqueness associated with each data capture.

Should have the ability to identify different variables associated with the data capture
