This is the third part of a case study series on Care Company TioHundra and Swedish integrated elder care. Integrated elder care looks at healthcare and social care for older patients. Integrated elder care focuses on the integration of work across care organizations, such as hospitals and homecare providers. TioHundra is a public healthcare company that provides integrated care in Norrtälje, a city one hour north of Stockholm, Sweden.

TioHundra operates an emergency hospital, six primary healthcare clinics, and a home healthcare organization for patients who are unable to travel to obtain care. TioHundra also manages social care and homecare organizations. The company runs eleven care homes and employs 3,500 people, including healthcare professionals and administrative staff. The purpose of the company is to find new and innovative ways to integrate care. The objective is to increase efficiency, quality, and safety while reducing the costs of care.

This installment of the case study is an interview with two quality coordinators at TioHundra. The interviewees describe the development of quality measures for healthcare and social care at TioHundra and the challenges that the company faces in quality control. The interviewees also address their work with frail elderly, care coordination, and quality registries.
