India’s Covid-19 Testing Capacity Must Grow by a Factor of 10

The Center for Global Development, in partnership with ACCESS Health India, has recently released a publication on the subject of India’s Covid-19 testing supply chain. Many experts believe that a tenfold increase in the country’s testing rate is necessary to keep positivity rates below 10 percent, as recommended by the World Health Organization.

The publication discusses the current approach towards testing of the Indian government and highlights its insufficiency. Moreover, the note gives further explanations on the organization of India’s Covid-19 testing supply chain along with its structural bottlenecks, as well as recommendations for the way the country can successfully expand testing.
