JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

AHI is implementing a capacity building project focusing on building the skills, and competencies of healthcare professionals and community for NCD screening and management in Bhutan. The project will majorly include activities like need assessment, module development and imparting training to the selected audience in clinical and non clinical space.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Project Manager will be responsible for overall implementation of the project on the ground with guidance from Head office.
  2. Project Manager will coordinate with stakeholders in the public health and NCD department of Bhutan.
  3. Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating with other stakeholders for implementation of the project.
  4. Project Manager will coordinate and responsible for NCD need assessment planned.
  5. Project Manager will be responsible for conducting capacity building of NCD stakeholders as proposed and as per the NCD need assessment.
  6. Project Manager will coordinate with experts for training content development as per the local need.
  7. Project Manager will coordinate and prepare reports as required by the funder and head office.
  8. Project Manager will be responsible for taking sessions in various trainings as part of the project.
  9. Any other work as assigned by Project Head/project lead from ACCESS Health.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications

MBBS with MD (Community Medicine)/MPH/CHA

Experience

Mandatory Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in the domain of NCD program management.

Desirable experience: 1-2 years of experience in Bhutan NCD program or related field is desirable.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent organizational and management skills, including time management and project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize.
  • Technical skills in the field of research, epidemiology and NCD management.
  • Strong project management, capacity building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with proven experience in completing projects with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, policies, and trends in Asia.
  • Strong work ethics, humility, and integrity adhering to global standards of professionalism
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowing Bhutanese will be an added advantage.

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT:

The selected candidate shall be offered a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension, based on continued availability of funding and performance.

LOCATION: Thimphu, Bhutan 

REPORTING TO: Technical Head – Public Health & Capacity Building

GRADE LEVEL: M2
