POSITION: Senior Business Development Specialist


TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed-term contract for two years

REPORTS TO: Regional Director, MENA Region

MENA’s strategic geopolitical position as a bridge between Europe, Asia, and Africa necessitates monitoring and responding to global health challenges. With a population of over 500 million, diverse in ethnicity, culture, and language, MENA offers a unique research opportunity to address health disparities and promote equity. The region confronts various public health issues, from NCDs to infectious diseases and mental health concerns. Additionally, the ongoing conflicts and instability in certain sub-regions, demand a local presence for effective response and healthcare access. An office in MENA enables on-the-ground research, advisory service, targeted policy recommendations, and collaboration with regional health organizations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Developing Business Strategies:
  • Devise and implement comprehensive short- and long-term sales strategies to secure prospective customers.
  • Maintain detailed profiles of prospective customers and evaluate their portfolios for

potential business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with various departments to forecast volumes and devise effective strategies.
  1. Industry Knowledge and Development:
  • Work towards achieving the agreed target for revenue generation
  • Identify and assess current market trends and potential new targets.
  • Conduct research on markets aligning with core competencies.
  • Identify promising leads and monitor upcoming RFP releases.
  • Review RFPs to assess their suitability before management review.
  • Gather market intelligence to assist the response team in crafting tailored responses.
  1. Sales Activities and Networking:
  • Conduct calls and meetings with prospective clients.
  • Follow-up with potential clients to finalize deals.
  • Leverage existing Access network and team to leverage relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create effective sales presentations.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with existing and potential clients.


Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare business, marketing, sales, or public administration.

10+ years of experience in sales/business development.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in developing new business.
  • Excellent ability to articulate Access Health International’s value proposition.
  • Proven initiative in accurately identifying and qualifying leads.
  • Proficient in managing multiple client buyers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in other languages including Arabic.
  • International or MENA region experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Aptitude for sales to state and UN agencies, private, and non-profit guarantors.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Strategic thinking ability.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
  • Willingness to relocate to Dubai UAE and travel within the MENA region.
