ACCESS Health’s work in Morocco focused on sharing global best practices to help inform various aspects of Morocco’s health system. Working in close collaboration with ACCESS Health India, the Morocco office launched the Naddar Ati Project, which provides access to free vision screening and high quality, affordable eyeglasses for schoolchildren in the Marrakech region. The project is an adaptation of a similar successful program created by the LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. Read our initial case study on the LV Prasad Eye Institute here.
The Morocco team also worked closely with the Ministry of Health of Morocco to analyze and assess the impact of the government’s national health insurance program, RAMED, in the early years following its rollout. Part of that work involved organizing a learning session for the Third Anniversary International Symposium: Health Coverage for Vulnerable Populations focused on global lessons learned that could help to inform and improve RAMED. More than one hundred participants from over ten countries attended the session. Read more about that work here.
