Madhya Pradesh has some of the poorest maternal and child health indicators in India. The ACCESS Health International team studied the healthcare delivery systems in two districts with the poorest health indicators in the state: Panna and Satna. In this report, we summarize the findings and implications of our research and describe the challenges we encountered while designing an integrated dashboard using three of the fourteen databases used by the government of Madhya Pradesh. We also discuss in detail a proposed intervention process that we designed to improve maternal and child health in the state.
This study and report are initiatives of the Health Financing Support Program.
