Dr. William Haseltine Speaks at The 8th US China Health Forum

Dr. William Haseltine, chairman and president of ACCESS Health International, attended the 8th US China Health Forum in Chengdu. The summit attracted more than two thousand experts and industry leaders in China, US, and all over the world.

Dr. Haseltine, as the chairman of the forum, spoke at the keynote session on the opening day. He emphasized the importance of transforming the hospital centered health system to a more patient centered health system. He promoted the benefits of focusing on outpatient care instead of building large hospitals. Then, Dr. Haseltine explained in details of how to build a distributed, high quality, and cost effective health system at the Hospital Director Sub Forum. He highlighted the lessons learned from the successful reform of NYU Langone Health in his new book World Class. He announced the publication of the Chinese version of Every Second Counts in China, which was also a great example of health system innovation of pre hospital emergency response. Dr. Haseltine was the chief judge of the US-China Health Technology Innovation Competition and gave award to the winning team.
