ACCESS Health India was home to the very first ACCESS Health office globally. Today, the India office focuses on health systems transformation and sharing innovations and best practices across India and the world.
ACCESS Health India’s research focuses on the building blocks of a healthy nation: health finance, health policy, health insurance, and healthcare delivery systems, especially in emergency care, primary care, and digital health. We have been piloting quality improvement programs, especially in maternal and child health, and providing technical assistance to policymakers as they formulate policy, implement reforms, and roll out the national public insurance program Ayushman Bharat.
ACCESS Health has been a part of a wider effort in India to address issues at the systems level, in collaboration with the government, donor organizations, and international and national researchers. We have been supporting the government on primary care, digital health, risk pooling, and strategic purchasing to drive quality and accountability. ACCESS Health India will continue to generate relevant research and knowledge to help in transforming the health systems.
