ACCESS Health Advances Dialogue on Global Hepatitis Elimination at High-Level Workshop In Rwanda

On April 15, 2025, Dr. Hala Zaid, Regional Director – MENA at ACCESS Health International and former Minister of Health of Egypt, joined leading public health stakeholders at the Africa Hepatitis Policy & Funding Workshop in Kigali, Rwanda. The event, hosted by Abbott Rapid Diagnostics and Africa Health Business, served as a critical platform to shape the future of hepatitis policy and funding on the continent.

The workshop convened senior policymakers, funders, and technical experts to chart sustainable strategies for eliminating hepatitis in Africa. Representing ACCESS Health International, Dr. Zaid spotlighted the mission of the Stop Hep Alliance, launched in July 2024. The Alliance, she highlighted, is committed to supporting countries in implementing national hepatitis action plans, advocating for sustained political commitment, and mobilizing financial and technical resources in alignment with global hepatitis elimination goals.

Dr. Zaid’s participation reaffirmed ACCESS Health’s dedication to advancing equity, access, and innovation in hepatitis care. We extend sincere thanks to Dr. Daniella Munene and Mr. Aaron K. Mulaki for their expert moderation and to Abbott for its steadfast commitment to delivering technologies that help people live healthier, fuller lives.

ACCESS Health remains proud to collaborate with partners across regions to drive forward people-centered approaches and transformative public health solutions.
