Origin Story

The Health Informatics Network was constituted with a truly clear and overarching objective to serve the long-term purpose of building a high-powered network of experts who could steer the capacity-building initiatives in the right direction.

Health informatics not only offers a variety of career options, and promises significant job growth and stability, but it also lets healthcare professionals make a lasting impact on patients and others’ lives. Health informatics specialists who intend to benefit from this professional training can further work to collect data, store, analyze, and leverage patient data to improve the delivery of healthcare services and other processes within healthcare settings.

With the theme discussed above, the focus of the Health Informatics Network (HIN) was on merging computer science, information technology, and healthcare into a single discipline. Thus, generating measurable contributions to healthcare, and creating a culture that ensures that health informatics is a core area of expertise within the health sector and facilitating frugal innovations.
