ACCESS Health International strengthens partnerships for health systems resilience in the MENA region

The 3rd Annual Conclave of the Global Learning Collaborative for Health Systems Resilience (GLC4HSR), held in New Delhi on March 11–12, 2025, marked a major milestone in regional health collaboration with the launch of the MENA Chapter.

The Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) has been announced as the regional convener, leading efforts to advance health systems resilience across the Middle East and North Africa.

EHA’s leadership in the MENA Chapter will focus on sharing best practices across the region, developing sustainable health financing mechanisms, strengthening supply chain resilience for medical essentials, and enhancing surveillance systems and preparedness strategies.

The launch of the MENA Chapter reinforces GLC4HSR’s mission to foster global cooperation while addressing region-specific health challenges, including emerging health threats, conflict-related disruptions, and economic uncertainties.

In a parallel effort to strengthen healthcare capacity, ACCESS Health International and the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA) formalized a partnership through a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed during the Annual Conclave. This collaboration will establish the UPA Academy, a pioneering initiative aimed at advancing healthcare workforce training and capacity building.

Under this agreement, ACCESS Health International will contribute to the design and implementation of training programs, provide international experts, and support accreditation and research initiatives. UPA will provide the necessary infrastructure and logistical support for training and capacity-building activities.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare quality and resilience through structured training programs and innovative learning platforms.

With these two strategic partnerships, ACCESS Health International is strengthening its engagement in the MENA region and advancing its mission to build robust and sustainable health systems through collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange.
