ACCESS Health Leads Workshop on Process Mapping in Quality Improvement

On August 22 and 23, Dr. Anunaya Jain and Dr. Sreeraj Sasi conducted a workshop on process mapping at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. Process mapping is an essential tool for quality improvement in the complex healthcare facility environment. The workshop featured interactive sessions that guided attendees as they created their first process maps and trained them to use the tool for quality improvement. The workshop consisted of examples and exercises that highlight the use of process mapping as a tool to improve care for patients, improve efficiency in practice, and redistribute work and job responsibilities, while avoiding rework and errors.

The Post Graduate Institute was one of the six hospitals that participated in the Indian Neonatal Collaborative project. About thirty pediatric specialists and pediatric nurses attended the workshop.
