ACCESS Health International is honored to have participated in a high-level roundtable discussion dedicated to strengthening cooperation between India and Egypt in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Dr. Hala Zaid, Global Director, International Health Affairs & Regional Director MENA at ACCESS Health International, represented the organization at this strategic dialogue.
Co-chaired by Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers of India, and H.E. Dr. Khaled Abdelghafar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population of Egypt, the roundtable served as a platform for advancing shared priorities between the two countries.
The meeting brought together an exceptional group of senior leaders and decision-makers, including Dr. Ali Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA); Dr. Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA); Dr. May Farid, CEO of the Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA); as well as CEOs from leading pharmaceutical companies across Egypt’s public and private sectors. High-level delegates from India’s Ministry of Health and representatives from the broader healthcare industry also contributed to the discussions.
During the session, Dr. Zaid presented ACCESS Health’s perspectives on emerging opportunities for bilateral collaboration, highlighting the potential for innovation, joint pharmaceutical development, and stronger health system partnerships between Egypt and India. Her remarks emphasized the importance of cross-regional cooperation in driving scalable, sustainable solutions for healthcare delivery and access.
