ACCESS Health Receives Letter of Appreciation for Evaluation of Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme

ACCESS Health International is honored to have received a Letter of Appreciation for the successful completion of our Evaluation of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) in Tamil Nadu, India. This recognition, presented by Dr. S. Vineeth, IAS, Project Director of the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, highlights the collaborative effort and the impact of this work.

The letter of appreciation was presented to Arun B. Nair, State Director (Kerala), ACCESS Health International, as the Principal Investigator of the Operational Research Program titled, “Evaluation of Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme Tamil Nadu (CMCHIS-TN)” undertaken for the Tamil Nadu Health System Reform Program with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras as the Nodal agency.  This accolade was conferred during the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Reforms Program Operational Research – Phase IV Dissemination Workshop, held on 28th March 2025 in Chennai. The evaluation examined hospital utilization patterns under CMCHIS, identifying both supply-side challenges in government hospitals and demand-side factors that influence patient choices.

ACCESS Health International is grateful to the Government of Tamil Nadu for this opportunity and for their continued leadership and commitment to advancing healthcare in the state. The CMCHIS has been pivotal in improving access to quality care, especially for underserved populations. We thank Dr. Vineeth, the Government of Tamil Nadu, and the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project team for their support, and we remain dedicated to improving health systems and expanding access to quality care.
