ACCESS Health is honored to partner with the BMC 1994 Association, a dynamic group of alumni from the 1994 batch of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. Comprising approximately 300 clinical experts across various specialties, the association is committed to leveraging its collective expertise and resources to enhance the health and well-being of communities across India.
On December 6, 2024, ACCESS Health, in collaboration with the Karnataka Digital Health Society, hosted an orientation webinar on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for members of the BMC 1994 Association. This transformative initiative by the Government of India is revolutionizing healthcare delivery through digital innovation. The webinar explored the core components of ABDM, including:
- ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account): A unique citizen ID enabling secure access to personal health records.
- National Registries: Comprehensive databases for healthcare facilities and professionals to serve as a single source of truth.
- Unified Health Interface (UHI): A system akin to UPI in banking, designed to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline digital healthcare processes.
Discussions emphasized the need for hospitals and healthcare professionals to adopt ABDM’s interoperable health information systems, empowering users with easy access to health records and fostering seamless digital interactions.
The webinar was led by Dr. Vasanth Kumar, Assistant Deputy Director & State Nodal Officer, Karnataka Digital Health Society, with support from Dr. Suma, Regional Coordinator, and Dr. Susheel Kumar, Project Manager. Distinguished attendees included:
- Dr. Rathan Kelkar IAS, Secretary IT, Government of Kerala
- Dr. Vijay Singh, Director, Karnataka Cluster, Narayana Health Group
- Dr. Sandhya Raghu, PMSSY Hospital, Bangalore
The event saw active participation from 25 members, including global healthcare leaders.
