Roberto was CMO and Vice President of Clinical Operations (Cordis & Cardinal Health), Medical Affairs Strategy Lead and Director for Infectious Disease/Vaccines (Merck & Co., Inc), Medical Advisor for China, Global Medical Director and Principal Clinical Scientist at Johnson&Johnson. Roberto is a Professor at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, was the scientific director of the E.M. Papper Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Molecular Biology and a faculty member in Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology (University of Miami) and Pathology (Harvard Medical School). He has a PhD in Experimental Pathology (Harvard University) and an MD (University of Miami School of Medicine). Dr. Patarca’s research has focused on HIV and coronaviruses, microbial replication, adoptive cellular immunotherapy, drug resistance testing, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Dr. Patarca served on Advisory Committees to U.S. Secretaries of Health and Human Services, was elected a member of the Academy of Sciences of Latin America, worked with the World Health Organization on standardization of cytokine level measurements, served as Editor-in-Chief and Book Series Editor for Haworth Medical Press, and edited Critical Reviews in Oncogenesis and the Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He dedicates his free time to his family.
