ACCESS Health participates in the AVPN Global Conference 2024

ACCESS Health International participated in the AVPN Global Conference 2024, which took place in Abu Dhabi between the 23rd and 25th of April, 2024. The conference’s theme was “One Asia, One Future” and focused on collaboration, leadership, and innovation in social investment in Asia. There were more than 1500 attendees from 44 markets, and some of the important topics covered included philanthropy, impact investing, and corporate social responsibility.

One Health Panel Discussion

At the conference, Dr. N. Krishna Reddy, CEO of ACCESS Health, moderated a panel discussion titled “Investing in Outcomes with ‘One Health’: Connecting People, Animals, and Environment.” The discussion focused on the concept of One Health, which recognizes the interconnection between human health, animal health, and environmental health.

The panelists discussed the importance of public-private partnerships, the need for cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the role of philanthropy in driving progress on One Health issues. They also highlighted the domino effect of the source of our nutrition and the role it plays in maintaining or disrupting synergy.

The panel comprised of experts from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • Dale Huntington, Senior Director, Healthcare Systems Policy, Johnson & Johnson
  • Himanshu Sikka, Project Director, USAID funded SAMRIDH Blended Finance Facility & Chief Strategic Officer, IPE Global Limited
  • Neena Joshi, Senior Vice President of Asia Programs, Heifer International
  • Reem Abdelhamid-Gazzaz, Regional Director (MENA) for Philanthropy & Partnerships, WHO Foundation

The discussion was insightful and informative, and it highlighted the importance of One Health as a critical approach to addressing global health challenges.

Expanding ACCESS Health’s Network

Beyond the panel discussion, ACCESS Health’s presence extended further. Dr. Uma Aysola, Director (Global), Communications & Partner Engagement, and Dr. Marie Lamy, Director, Partnerships Development, also attended the conference as representatives of ACCESS Health International. They actively participated in networking events and initiated multiple connections with potential partners and collaborators. These connections will be crucial in furthering ACCESS Health’s mission of improving health outcomes in underserved communities around the world.
