Health Futures Held Networking Reception with Microsoft in China

Health Futures China recently held a special “Industry Leaders Networking Reception” in collaboration with Microsoft China on June 26 in Beijing. The event focused on the digital transformation of health services. China Mobile Research Institute and The George Institute of Global Health also supported the event with more than forty mentors and partners participating in the session.

We were honored to be joined by Dr. Liqun Xu, Chief Science Officer of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. to deliver an insightful speech on the digital transformation of health services in China. Dr. Xu shared his understanding of the opportunities, the challenges, and the implementation of the digital health sector in China. Based on his experience in China Mobile, Dr. Xu explained that the rapid progress of mobile communication technologies will bring significant influence and opportunities in digital health, especially the remote healthcare services.

Following the speaker, Dr. Chang Liu, managing director of ACCESS Health Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore, introduced the Health Futures program to the audience. Health technology is one of the key focus areas of the Health Futures program. We promote the development of healthcare innovation and other medical technologies required to implement patient centered, high quality, affordable, and integrated health systems.

We also had other guests share their insights in digital health through short speech and panel discussions. The discussions focused on the application and implementation of big data in the health sector. Four panelists shared different thoughts on the role of big data to the health sector. At the end of the session, two Startup Alliance members, Predicare and ZhiZhen, presented their projects and business development ideas for mentors and partners. Predicare is Swedish company who focuses on developing an innovative medical management system for emergency care. ZhiZhen provides innovative screening services for eye diseases based on artificial intelligence.
