Enhancing Interoperability in Healthcare IT Systems

Traditional health systems often operate in silos, leading to interoperability issues. In response, India launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in 2021 to create a unified digital health ecosystem. ACCESS Health studied the adoption of ABDM-enabled systems in 108 facilities to identify challenges. To address these, an ABDM wrapper was developed to ensure system integration, data translation, and patient data management with minimal changes to existing systems.

Program Objectives

Driving seamless digital health integration and accurate patient data management through advanced system connectivity.

Provide APIs for system-level integration with ABDM

Facilitate the seamless adoption of digital health systems

Maintain accurate patient data management through a Master Patient Index.
