Mixed Methodology (Qualitative & Quantitative)
The study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches to identify and address gaps in maternity care practices.
Villages were classified into red and yellow zones based on observations. The red zone has issues like home deliveries by traditional birth attendants (Dais), underage marriages, teenage pregnancies, and poor practices.
The yellow zone involves home deliveries by Dai’s occur in emergencies or due to restrictions, compounded by prevalent myths and inadequate birth planning.
The findings were used to develop targeted interventions to improve safe maternity practices in the district.
