Evaluating the Urban Frontline Healthcare Worker Model

The study was undertaken to understand the impact of the Urban frontline healthcare worker model for NCD service delivery and its evaluation (scalability and sustainability) from a financial perspective.

Program Objectives

Evaluating the impact of community mobilizers on NCD service uptake, quality, and financial sustainability at Basti Dawakhana.

Understand the impact of community mobilizers on population-based screening services.

Identify any increase in the uptake of NCD services in Basti Dawakhana due to the presence of additional human resources.

Analyze the effect on the quality of NCD service delivery via Basti Dawakhana.

Conduct a financial analysis for the sustainability and scalability of the approach.

Mixed Methodology (Qualitative + Quantitative)

The project seeks to improve NCD services and workforce capacity at the urban primary healthcare level to reduce NCD-related issues among underserved populations.

Key Findings

Community mobilizers have positively impacted population-based screening services, particularly in underserved areas.

The presence of additional human resources has led to an increase in the uptake of NCD services in Basti Dawakhana.

The model shows promise for scalability and sustainability, with a positive financial impact on urban primary healthcare.
